Best Hair Colors For Blue Eyed Woman

Best Hair Colors For Blue Eyed Woman

Best Hair Colors For Blue Eyed Woman Meenal Rajapet Stylecraze October 12, 2017

Hair coloring can be scary. With color options aplenty, it is so easy to go wrong. But if you keep some key factors in mind, it is just as easy to go right. A lot of factors determine how a particular color will look on you. Two of the most important ones are skin tone and eye color. To make your color choice a whole lot easier, I’ve compiled a list of hair colors that complement blue eyes and different skin tones. But first, let’s look at how you can determine your skin tone.

How To Determine Your Skin Tone

Your skin tone is determined by not how dark or light the color of your skin is. It is determined by the undertones your skin carries. It can be a little tricky to figure out what the dominant undertones in your skin are, but you can use the following methods to find out.

Method 1

Hold your arm out with your palms facing up at the sun. Observe your veins in the sunlight to determine what color they are. If they appear to be blue or purple, you have cool-toned skin. If they look green, you have warm toned skin. If you cannot tell whether they look green or blue, it is likely that you are neutral, or olive skinned.

Method 2

Another way to determine your skin tone is by holding a white piece of paper against your face in a well-lit area with a mirror. If your skin appears to be yellow against the white, you are warm-toned. If your skin appears to be rosy or blueish-red, you have cool-toned skin. If it looks ashy, or if you can’t determine what undertones are dominant, you probably have olive skin.

Method 3

Take 2 pieces of gold and silver foil. Hold the gold foil against your face so that it reflects light onto your skin. See if it makes your skin glow or makes it appear washed out. Repeat this with the silver foil. If the gold looks better on you, you have warm-toned skin whereas if the silver looks best; you have cool-toned skin. If both look good on you, it is likely that you have a neutral skin tone. You can also try this method with gold and silver jewelry.

Now that you have your skin tone down let’s look at what hair colors are likely to look best on you.

Hair Colors For Blue Eyes And Warm-Toned Skin

1. Warm Browns

Image: Instagram

Almost all shades of brown suit people with warm-toned skin with the exception of ashy shades. Darker shades, however, will do a better job at complementing your blue eye color. If you already have dark hair and want to play it safe, stick to warm browns that are two shades within your natural hair color. Warm browns work with light, medium, and dark skin colors.

2. Golden Bronde

Image: Instagram

If you are light-skinned, a golden bronde can really complement your blue eyes. This soft look brings out your eye color without being too “out there.”

3. Golden Blonde

Image: Instagram

If you’re really keen on picking a shade of blonde, I would suggest you stay as far away from ashy colors as possible. Instead, go for a warm golden blonde as this will better complement your skin tone.

4. Ginger

Image: Instagram

No one can pull off ginger better than people with warm skin tones do. We all know how glorious Merida’s hair in Brave looked. Ginger is about as warm as you can get with a hair color, and if you have warm toned skin, it’ll highlight the gold in your skin, adding a subtle glow to your complexion.

5. Red

Image: Instagram

Bold colors are always so much fun. The best hair color for blue eyes and warm skin is red. The color helps create a beautiful contrast with your cool blue eyes while also complementing your skin tone.

6. Burgundy

Image: Instagram

Burgundy is another beautiful choice for those who want that extra pop of color while still playing it safe. The beautiful red and purple undertones in this color bring out the warmth of your skin tone and pair incredibly well with blue eyes.

Hair Colors For Blue Eyes And Cool-Toned Skin

1. Dark Brown

Image: Instagram

While dark brown is one color that can suit almost any skin tone or color, adding a few subtle cool-toned highlights can elevate your looks from ordinary to gorgeous. Dark colors work well to bring out the depth in your blue eyes.

2. Ash Brown

Image: Instagram

Cool-toned browns are definitely a favorite for a cool-toned skin. The brown looks natural and bereft of the warm tones, pairs extremely well with cool skin and blue eyes. This color looks great on all skin colors.

3. Ash Blonde

Image: Instagram

You can never go wrong with an ash blonde on cool toned skin. The color not only looks fantastic but also highlights the gray undertones in blue eyes, completing the cool toned look. People with light to medium complexion can opt for this color.

4. Platinum

Image: Instagram

The color that does not stop slaying. No one can pull off a platinum look better than people with cool toned skin. However, it can get a bit risky when you pair this color with medium and dark skin tones. Your hair can also go through a lot of damage if you are trying to obtain this color while being a natural brunette. But if you have light skin and light hair, what’s stopping you?

5. Blue

Image: Instagram

A hair color list would be incomplete without a couple of crazy colors. And speaking of crazy colors, always opt for ones with blue or violent undertones when you have cool toned skin. Depending on the color of your skin, you can experiment with various shades of blue until you find the right one for you.

6. Lavender

Lavender1

Image: Instagram

Blessed are those with a cool-toned skin for they can pull off this color like no other. Lavender hairstyles are totally trending right now. The blue undertones in this color help bring out the blue in your eyes.

Hair Colors For Blue Eyes And

Olive Skin

1. Mahogany

Image: Instagram

It’s so hard not to imagine the musky scent of wood when you look at this hair color. The rich brown has a lot of warm undertones, but the best part of having olive skin is that it goes with most hair colors. This color suits most complexions.

2. Sandy Blonde

Image: Instagram

This blonde sits right in between golden and ashy shades, making it the perfect color for olive skin. The neutral tones complement olive skin tones while also bringing out the blue and gray flecks in your eyes.

3. Black

Image: Instagram

This has to be one of our favorite combinations. Black somehow looks so much better on olive skin tones than on others. The dark color creates a rich contrast with the light eyes, bringing out their color.

4. Hazelnut

Image: Instagram

While this color is close to sandy blonde, it has warmer undertones. Hazelnut hair works really well with lighter skin. If you have darker skin, you can try dark variations of hazelnut or incorporate the color into your hair as highlights.

5. Purple

Image: Instagram

Purple is the perfect compromise when you cannot decide between a warm and cool-toned color. It has both, blue and red undertones which play well with the neutral skin tone. The blue undertones help bring out the blue of your eyes.

6. Green

Image: Instagram

There are many colors that olive skinned people can pull off with ease, that cool or warm skinned people can’t. Green is one such color. The bold color complements olive skin like no other.

6. Lavender

Lavender1

Are you just in your teens and already have white hair? Does that make you feel embarrassed when you are amongst your peers? White hair at a young age might be a common problem, but it does sap the self-image of the individual.

How can any youngster get rid of white hair? Are there any home remedies for white hair in young age? Well, there are! And that is what this post is all about! Read on and get to know of the ways in which you can prevent premature hair whitening!

How To Get Rid Of White Hair In Young Age – 8 Simple Ways

1. Heat Protection

This is a preventive as well as a curative measure against hair whitening. Excessive heat and sweat make the scalp dry. The hair follicles become weak and start to age. As a result, hair goes gray and white. Use caps and umbrellas whenever you step out in the sun. Avoid hot water bath; and also, say no to direct heat from blowers that you use to pat your hair dry. If you have already damaged your hair due to heat, apply cool hair packs to reverse the damage. The scalp gets moisturized with a regular use of such cool conditioner hair packs. Once the normal pH level of the scalp gets restored, white hair follicles wither away. It further promotes new hair growth.

2. Eat Vitamin B12-Rich Food

This is one of the best ways to prevent hair whitening. It is also a curative measure to get rid of white hair. Vitamin B12 maintains the scalp health and heals hair against whitening. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables rich in Vitamin B12 (yeast, cheese, avocados, oranges, plums and cranberry) to develop a healthy diet. Soon the results show up, and hair growth is promoted. White hair strands get overshadowed with new growth, and finally, they fall away.

3. Use Biotin-Rich Hair Products

Biotin is the natural ingredient that maintains black color in the hair. Thus, promote the consumption of biotin rich food items (like oats and almonds) to get rid of white hair at a young age. The use of biotin rich hair cosmetics is also a wonderful mean to restore the natural black color of your hair.

4. Oiling

You cannot afford to miss oiling of your scalp on a regular basis if you love your hair. Most teenagers and youngsters are reluctant to oiling. This is one of the primary reasons that we have weak hair follicles resulting in thin hair, white hair and dull hair at a very young age. Use almond oil and olive oil to nourish your scalp. You can also use powerful herbal oil formulas to repair hair damage. Oiling is one of the best and natural ways to get rid of white hair. It is also a sure-shot prevention against hair whitening at a young age.

5. Henna

Henna, the natural dye, is a scalp healing herb. Use henna at least once a week to keep premature hair whitening at bay. It not just protects your hair against whitening; it also erases the appearance of existing white hair.

In such a scenario, the hair quality gets a huge blow in the form of hair whitening and weakening. De-stress exercises and meditation are the two weapons against hair whitening. Meditation restores the chemical balance in our brain and leaves the body and mind calm. It prevents hair whitening and repairs the same.

7. Natural Hair Dyes

Scared of chemical dyes due to the side-effects they cause? Switch to using homemade natural dyes that are a warehouse of scalp nourishing ingredients. Boil tea/coffee in water for 15 minutes and let it cool. Add natural oils to the cooled liquid to form a healthy, natural hair dye. Wash your hair regularly with this natural color to get rid of white hair.

8. Natural Conditioners

Instead of using the chemical-loaded hair conditioners, try your hand at some nourishing natural hair conditioners to promote hair growth and demote hair whitening. Make a paste of Gooseberries and black walnuts, and mix them. Add natural oils to the mixture to make your personalized natural homemade hair conditioner. Use this hair conditioner as a hair pack thrice every week. It reverses hair aging, improves the texture and tone of hair, results in hair strengthening and thickening and treats dandruff.

7 Simple Ways To Improve Your Hair Texture

7 Simple Ways To Improve Your Hair Texture waafiya Stylecraze October 16, 2017

Do you want to have gorgeous and voluminous looking hair? Are you fed up of using chemical based products, and are looking for natural ones? Then your search ends with this post!

Before making your hair healthy and beautiful, you should first be clear about the texture and type of your hair. That is where this post comes to help! Go and give the following lines a read. And guess what, by the time you are done with the article, you would have a clear idea as to how you can make your hair the best it can be!

Hair Texture:

The texture of hair is determined by the thickness of your hair strand or its circumference or the condition of the cuticle. The circumference of fine hair is small and has a closed cuticle. Whereas coarse hair have large circumference and the cuticle tends to be more open, making the hair to be more porous. Whether your hair is wavy, straight, or curly, we have basically three hair textures – medium, fine, and thick.

1. Fine Hair:

Fine hair looks almost translucent when held in light. The strands shredded can be really hard to see even on a contrasting background. When you roll a strand of fine hair between your index finger and thumb, you would hardly feel it; it would feel like a strand of silk. They have only two hair structures, namely the cuticle and the cortex. They look thin and tend to break easily. This type of hair can easily be damaged. They have smooth consistency and are shiny, thus cannot hold hairstyles.

2. Medium Hair:

This type of hair texture is neither coarse nor fine. When rolled between your index finger and thumb you would feel the hair like a cotton thread. It is neither tough nor stiff. This type of hair has two layers of hair structure, namely the cuticle and the cortex and might have medulla as well. They do not tend to break easily. They also have a bounce.

3. Thick Hair:

Thick hair is also called coarse hair. Just try to roll a strand between your index finger and thumb. You’ll see that the coarse hair feels wiry and hard. You can actually hear your hair as you roll it back and forth. It is considered the strongest of all hair textures. They have all the three layers of the hair namely the cuticle, the medulla and the cortex. Since they are rough and heavy, they tend to hold several hairstyles quiet well.

Hair Types:

Similar to different hair textures, human hair also comes in different hair types. Hair type is defined by the thickness and the amount of curl in a hair strand. There are basically four hair types – straight, wavy, curly, and tightly curled.

1. Type 1:

The type 1 hair has no curl pattern and is straight naturally. This type of hair is shiny and oily because of a lack of curl. Since the hair is straight, natural oil present in the scalp comes down to the hair shaft. There are three sub categories under type1. The first type is flat from the root up to the tip and doesn’t hold any curl. Many Asian girls tend to fall in this category. The second type of hair isn’t completely flat and has more body and will hold curls. They have bends here and there and the end tends to curl slightly. The third type of hair is straight, has a body and few areas are wavy. This type of hair also bends slightly.

2. Type 2:

Type 2 hair is naturally wavy and forms an S shape. This type of hair is neither oily nor dry. There are three sub categories under type 2. The first kind has loose and natural waves all over the scalp. They are not frizzy. The second kind has waves, which can easily be defined. This type of hair also doesn’t have a bounce. The final kind also has waves that form loose spiral curls. It is the frizziest of all the hair types in this category.

3. Type 3:

Type 2 hair is S shaped and naturally curly. They form ringlets, which can be defined without using any hair product. They tend to be dry and the natural oils found in the scalp are not heavy. There are three sub categories under type 3. The first kind is silky in texture and curls can be easily defined. The second kind of hair consists of spiral and springy curls and is prone to extreme frizziness without the use of styling products. The third kind of hair has oily curls; they are closely packed and look clumpy.

4. Type 4:

Type 4 hair is tightly curled and coiled. This type of hair keeps its shape whether it is dry or wet. It is extremely dry because of the shape of the hair strand. The natural oils do not come down to the tips. There are three sub categories under type 4. The first category of hair is tight and coily. The curls are springy and look cylindrical in shape. The second category of hair has tight patterns and can be clearly defined. The final hair type under this category is Z shaped and has a zigzag pattern. They look confusing and the texture ranges from fine to wiry and coarse. They shrink by more than half of its actual length.

How To Pick Hair Colors For Pale Skin

How To Pick Hair Colors For Pale Skin

How To Pick Hair Colors For Pale Skin Meenal Rajapet Stylecraze October 12, 2017

Hair coloring can be exciting and scary at the same time. While you can’t wait for the change, you also start to wonder if you should play it safe and let your hair be. One question that lingers in the minds of those struck by this dilemma is – what if the color doesn’t look good on me?

What if I told you there’s way to pick a color that will, without question, look good on you?

Picking a hair color can be pretty simple if you take into account a few key factors like your skin tone and the color of your eyes. To make things easier, I have put together a guide for picking the best hair colors for pale skin.

How To Pick The Right Hair Color For Pale Skin?

Step 1- Determine Your Skin Tone

Image: Shutterstock

This is the most important factor when it comes to picking a hair color. Even the most gorgeous of colors can look awful when it is not paired with a complementing skin tone. There are three ways in which you can determine your skin tone:

  1. Go out in the sun and hold your arm out with your palms facing up. Observe the color of your veins. If they look blue/purple, you have a cool skin tone whereas if they look green, you are warm-skinned. If you cannot tell whether your veins look blue or green, it is likely that you have a neutral or olive skin tone.
  2. In a well-lit area, stand facing a mirror. Now, hold up a piece of white paper against your skin. If your skin looks yellow in comparison to the paper, you have warm-toned skin. If it looks rosy and pink, you have cool-toned skin. If you cannot tell, it is likely that you have a neutral or olive skin tone.
  3. Another way to determine your skin tone is to get a piece of gold and silver foil each. Hold the foil in a way that it reflects light onto your face. Observe to see if it makes your face glow, or makes it look washed out. If the gold foil makes your skin glow, you are warm-toned, and if the silver foil makes your skin glow, you are cool toned. If both are flattering, you have an olive/neutral skin tone.
  4. Determine what jewelry flatters your skin – gold or silver? If gold looks better, you are warm-toned whereas if silver looks better, you have cool-toned skin. If both look good, you have an olive/neutral skin tone.

Step 2- Consider Your Eye Color

Image: Shutterstock

While your eye color does not affect your hair color choice as much as your skin tone, taking your eye color into consideration when making a decision can give you a major hand in stepping up your hair color game. This can help you pick the best hair color for pale skin.

How To Dye Your Hair With Lemon Juice?

How To Dye Your Hair With Lemon Juice?

How To Dye Your Hair With Lemon Juice? Maanasi Radhakrishnan Stylecraze October 12, 2017

Do you want to dye your hair but are afraid of the chemicals and the damage they can cause? Well, there are a few other ways you can dye your hair – or rather, lighten or highlight it; and lemon juice is one of the most effective ways to do that.

This post tells you how to dye your hair with lemon juice. To know more, keep reading!

1. Prepare The Dye

To start making your ‘dye’, you need lemons. Take as many lemons you need to achieve full coverage (or partial coverage, in case you are doing just the highlights). Take the lemons, and applying pressure with the heel of your hand, roll them on a hard surface. This is a good trick to extract more juice out of any citrus fruit.

2. Apply

Cut the lemons in quarters. Boil a cup of water. With this hot water, mix the freshly squeezed lemon juice. Make sure that the juice and water are equal in volume. If your hair dries out quickly, this may make it even frizzier. So mix equal parts of orange juice (since it has some acidic content, though less than that of a lemon). If you have dry hair, you can also add a squeeze of conditioner to the lemon mixture and whisk well.

[ Read: Benefits Of Vegetable Hair Dye ]

3. Soak In The Sun

Bottle the mixture in a spray bottle and cover your entire hair by spritzing. Once your whole hair is covered, run a sparse bristled brush across your hair. You may also want to get highlights instead of full coverage. For this, soak a strip of gauze in the lemon mixture and holding the section of hair in your hand, wipe it with the strip of gauze. You may need to do a few coats in order to get the desirable contrast. Also, keep some clips handy. Once you are done with the strips, attach a clip to easily pick them up every time.

4. Finish

You need to sit in direct sunlight for at least one hour or more for the color change to become visible. So, pick a spot and sit facing away from the sun so that your hair gets most of the exposure. Also, since you are going to sit in the harsh sun for long, it is advised to wear sunscreen. Wear one with SPF 15 by applying it thickly all over your face, neck and any exposed part of your skin. After an hour in the sun, reapply the juice and soak for another thirty minutes.

5. Natural Additives

To complete the whole hair lightening process, wash your hair once the color is set and give your mane deep conditioning. This is necessary because lemon juice drastically lowers your hair’s pH level, which makes it dry out quickly. If you want your new highlighted locks to look smooth and silky, deep conditioning is absolutely necessary.

There are various additives that you can incorporate into your natural hair lightener to enhance the effect of the lightener or make your hair softer and smoother.

Cassia

This looks like cinnamon, but has a different taste and a slightly golden color. Crush into powder and mix with the lemon juice to give your hair a golden glow.

Chamomile Tea

Steep the tea in the hot water before adding lemon juice. This helps in giving you nice golden highlights.

[ Read: How To Use Henna And Indigo To Colour Your Hair Black? ]

Cinnamon

Cinnamon also helps in imparting a brown, golden tinge to your hair. It works well on darker hair.

Honey

It helps in conditioning your hair and cuts down the frizz.

Now that you know how to dye your hair with lemon juice, what are you waiting for? Lemon juice will condition, soften and make your hair look more healthy and voluminous while also giving you those parlour-like streaks at home. Hence lightening your hair with lemon juice is no more a tedious task, try it today!

Hypertension Causes Hair Fall

Hypertension Causes Hair Fall

Hypertension Causes Hair Fall Ruby Parmar Stylecraze October 16, 2017

Now don’t you girls panic! Let me clarify this at the very outset that it’s not the hypertension or the high blood pressure that causes hair loss. The real culprit is the medication taken for hypertension.
Though, not all the anti-hypertensive drugs cause hair loss. An anti-hypertensive drug called Minoxidil is actually being used for hair growth in cases of Alopecia/baldness and especially effective for male-pattern baldness.

The Reason Behind High Blood Pressure(Hypertension) and Hair Loss

An adult has an average 100,000 hair strands on the head. We tend to lose around 100 strands per day which are naturally replaced all the time. Shedding of the hair is common and a part of the normal hair growth cycle. So, hair fall more than 100-150 strands per day can be termed “Hair Loss”.

Like any other biological process, even hair growth is a cycle. The hair shaft is is formed and nourished for growth in the hair follicle. During its entire life span, the hair goes through 3 stages. The Anagen, catagen and telogen phase. The Anagen phase is when the papilla in the follicle multiplies and the hair shaft is formed and grows into a strand. This is the stage in which the hair stays for 85% of the cycle. Next comes the catagen phase which is also known as the transformation stage where the follicles rest. Finally, the strand reaches the telogen phase where the strand is pushed out of the epidermis. This is when the hair falls.

[ Read: Lack Of Sleep Result In Hair Loss ]

Any interruptions in this cycle, leads to the cycle jumping to the very end. That is telogen phase. Ergo, the excessive hair fall!

High Blood Pressure cause Hair Loss:

Like any other kind of hair loss, medication induced hair loss can really give a mighty blow to the self-esteem of an individual. But the brighter side of this is that in most of the cases, the hair loss is reversible once you terminate the medication. Now, the severity of the medication induced hair loss depends from individual to individual, on the type and the dosage of the medication. Anti-hypertensive drugs cause hair loss by interfering with the normal cycle of hair growth. But the hair loss becomes noticeable only after taking medications for about 2-4 months. In this case, the hair follicles go into the resting phase and fall out too early.

If the physician doesn’t change the drug or the dosage (which he knows more about that you do!) then just tell yourself  that “It’s better to live with fewer strands of hair and anti-hypertensive drugs, than dying with a heart-attack, without the medication.” Remember hypertension can be fought and brought under control by aiding the medication with a good diet and a healthy diet. And once it is under control, no more medication! Think long term girls!

A person’s sensitivity to that particular drug also matters a lot.
